A Utah bachelorette party that ends with everyone sunburned, dusty, and grinning from the trail is one people actually remember. At Uinta Recreation, we are based in Heber City at 2210 S Highway 40 — 25 minutes from Park City, 45 minutes from Salt Lake City, and 30 minutes from Provo — and we have been running guided side-by-side tours through the Wasatch Mountain backcountry since 2007. No experience required. No one has to be outdoorsy. You just have to show up.
Heber City sits at the center of some of the most spectacular terrain in Utah, and it is a straightforward drive from wherever your group is staying. If your bachelorette weekend is based in Park City, you are 25 minutes from us. Flying into Salt Lake City? You are 45 minutes out. Either way, a morning or afternoon tour fits easily into a full weekend itinerary without eating the whole day.
WHY GUIDED TOURS ARE THE RIGHT CALL FOR A BACHELORETTE PARTY
Bachelorette groups come in all shapes — some riders, some first-timers, some somewhere in between. That mix is exactly why a guided tour works better than a self-guided one for larger parties. Your guide leads from the front, keeps the group together, sets a pace that works for everyone, and handles every logistical decision on the trail. Nobody has to navigate. Nobody has to manage. The bride-to-be certainly does not.
Our guided side-by-side tours depart directly from our Heber City headquarters and run three hours through the Wasatch Mountain State Park trail system. A 2-vehicle minimum is required to book, which most bachelorette groups clear without any issue. We take your headcount, configure the right number of machines, and handle the rest.
If your group is smaller or more experienced and prefers to explore at your own pace, our self-guided UTV tours are also an option — you get a QR code trail map, Garmin GPS, and a full orientation before you ride.
The Ride
Most tours run through Dutch Hollow and Snake Creek Canyon. Dutch Hollow is a 12-mile loop with around 1,200 feet of elevation gain — the kind of ride where you are working but not suffering, and the views at the top make the climb worth it. Snake Creek Canyon winds through old mining routes, with sweeping views of Mount Timpanogos that shift with every turn. Depending on timing, your route may include a stop at Cascade Springs, where you can park the machines and walk the boardwalks through the natural spring formations, or ride above the Jordanelle Reservoir with a view that stretches across the valley.
Your guide adjusts the route to the group. Experienced riders who want more terrain get more terrain. Groups that want to take it easier and enjoy the scenic ride at that pace. The experience is built around your group, not the other way around.
THE MACHINES
We run five Can-Am models and buy new equipment every season. For bachelorette groups, the four-seat Can-Am Maverick Sport Max 1000R is the most popular — 100 HP, excellent suspension, and room for four per machine, so your group can mix and match seating however you want. The six-passenger Can-Am Defender Max HD7 works well for groups that want to ride together in fewer vehicles. Two-seat options — the Commander DPS 700, Commander XT 700, and the 100 HP Commander XT 1000R — are available for pairs who want their own machine. All operators must be 18 or older with a valid driver’s license. Operators of 1000cc machines must be 25 or older. All ages can ride as passengers.
Planning the Logistics of Your Bachelorette UTV Tour
Most bachelorette bookings we take are from out-of-state groups — people flying into Salt Lake City or already in Park City for the weekend. Heber City is an easy day-trip from both, requiring a simple logistics chain to pull off. Here’s our straightforward 3-step process:
Step 1
Give us a call before you bookGive us a call before you finalize anything. Tell us your group size, where you are staying, and what your weekend looks like. We will help you figure out the right tour type, machine configuration, and timing so the day runs smoothly for everyone.
Step 2
Book earlyThe one consistent piece of advice we give every group is to book in advance. Summer weekends fill up faster than most people expect, and larger groups have less flexibility to move dates at the last minute. We recommend locking in your booking at least three months in advance.
Booking in the slower months — April, May, October, or November — opens up our best availability and comes with the chance for early booking and group discounts. Check our current specials or just ask when you call — we will tell you exactly what is available for your dates.
Step 3
Complete the Utah OHV Education Course before ridingAll operators must complete this required course to abide by state law. Online waivers are required for all participants. We email everything you need after booking, so the group can handle it in advance and show up ready to ride.
