UTAH BIRTHDAY PARTY UTV TOURS

THE MILESTONE ACTIVITY YOUR GROUP WILL NOT FORGET

A birthday activity that works for a group of eight and does not require anyone to fake enthusiasm is harder to find than it sounds. A guided UTV tour through the Wasatch Mountain backcountry does not have that problem. We are in Heber City at 2210 S Highway 40, Heber City — 25 minutes from Park City, 45 minutes from Salt Lake City, and 30 minutes from Provo — and we run Can-Am side-by-sides through some of the best terrain in Utah. No experience required. No fitness threshold. Just show up, get briefed, and ride.

Whether you are celebrating a 30th, a 40th, a 50th, or just a birthday worth doing right, a morning or afternoon on the trails gives the whole group something real to do together — not just dinner and drinks, but an actual experience in terrain that most people never get to see from that angle.

Guided vs. Self-Guided — Depends on Group Preference

For larger birthday parties, a guided side-by-side tour is the way to go. Your guide leads the group from the front, handles all navigation, and keeps everyone together regardless of experience level. Tours depart directly from our Heber City headquarters and last 3 hours. A 2-vehicle minimum is required to book, which most birthday groups clear without issue.

Smaller birthday groups — two to four people who want to explore on their own schedule — tend to prefer a self-guided UTV tour. You get a QR code trail map that opens a custom Google Maps overlay color-coded by difficulty, a Garmin GPS unit for emergency use on the trail, and a full orientation before you ride. You pick the route, set the pace, and stop wherever you want.

Either way, call us before you book. Tell us your group size, and we will point you toward the right setup.

The Ride

Tours run through the Wasatch Mountain State Park trail system in the Heber Valley. Dutch Hollow offers a 12-mile loop with around 1,200 feet of elevation gain — challenging enough to feel like an accomplishment, approachable enough for riders of any experience level. Snake Creek Canyon winds through historic mining routes with 360-degree views of Mount Timpanogos that shift with every mile. Depending on timing, your route may include Cascade Springs, where the group can park and walk the boardwalks through the natural spring formations, or elevated viewpoints above the Jordanelle Reservoir.

The scenery changes dramatically by season. Summer brings wildflower meadows and clear ridgeline views. Fall turns the aspens gold across the canyon walls. If a birthday lands in the shoulder season, the trails are quieter, and the light is better.

The Machines

Five Can-Am models are available, all purchased new each season and inspected before every ride. For larger birthday groups, the four-seat Maverick Sport Max 1000R (100 HP) and the six-passenger Defender Max HD7 are the most practical choices — they keep the group together across fewer machines. Two-seat options include the Commander DPS 700, the Commander XT 700 with higher-travel suspension, and the Commander XT 1000R for riders who want 100 HP in a two-seat machine. All operators must be 18 or older with a valid driver’s license. Operators of 1000cc machines must be 25 or older. No minimum age for passengers.

Planning the Birthday Tour

Most of our birthday bookings come from out of state — groups already in Park City or Salt Lake City who want a half-day activity that stands out from the usual options. Heber City is an easy drive from both and adds nothing complicated to the logistics.

Book early — this applies especially to larger birthday groups with less flexibility to reschedule. We recommend locking in your date at least 3 months in advance, particularly for the summer. If your birthday falls during our slower months — April, May, October, or November — ask about early booking and group discounts when you call. Check our current specials before booking to see what is available.

Before arriving, all operators must complete the Utah OHV Education Course — required by state law for anyone operating an off-highway vehicle in Utah. Online waivers are required for all participants and are sent by email after booking. A major credit card with $2,500 available credit is required, and a $50 per machine per day damage agreement is required at the time of rental.
